Marketing tech giant Marketo was left very red faced yesterday after it was discovered that their site-wide failure was due to forgetting to renew their domain name.
It’s every digital marketer’s nightmare – a catastrophic failure caused by the most embarrassing of gaffs.
After thousands of businesses were left without access to the popular marketing automation system, online legend @TravisPrebble came to the rescue after he noticed the error was due to a failure to renew their domain name.
Travis leaped into action renewing the domain name for them (yes, who knew you could renew the domain on behalf of someone) on his own credit card.
We are aware of the issue with the https://t.co/9m4s5tpfDW domain and are working quickly to resolve it. We apologize for any inconvenience.
