Facebook is taking the Fake News backlash very seriously. They have just announced that any Facebook Page that has posts repeatedly flagged as fake news, will be banned from buying ads.
Although Facebook declined to say how many times a Page would need to have content flagged before they were banned, they did say “if Pages stop sharing false news, they may be eligible to start running ads again”.
This is a bold, and frankly, welcome, move from Facebook. For us as digital marketers, it is business as usual. “Don’t be dodgy” always wins in the end.
