In the wake of some very high-profile hacks and attacks on high-profile individuals, Google is apparently rolling out a new service called Advanced Protection Program.

According to Bloomberg, the new service launches next month and uses physical (USB based) authentication in addition to restricting which third-party applications can connect with the account.

If the thought of tighter security excites you, you may be out of luck. The service will only be available for corporate executives, politicians, and others with heightened security concerns (in other words, high-profile targets).

Does the thought of higher security measures give you peace of mind or just stress you out that you will have to perform additional steps to access your account? Let us know on social.
