Things could potentially be hotting up in the recruitment space as some very observant punters have noticed a small change being tested by Facebook. This change could indicate a larger interest in the recruitment space which would put Facebook head to head with LinkedIn.

The change is minor and at this stage is only speculation, but Matt Navara from The Next Web was sent this screenshot as a tip. The screenshot indicates that Facebook are testing an employment timeline approach as well as greater detail in the experience section of your Facebook profile.

 

 

It will be interesting to see how this plays out and how Facebook can overcome the challenge of mixing professional and personal. LinkedIn has always cornered this market as they are strictly a professional platform. This means you are unlikely to see photos of me sipping gin at the Atlas bar in Singapore (highly recommended by the way) on LinkedIn. You will, however, see a ton of these on Facebook and Instagram.
