In a past post, I ironically joked around about Instagram desire to religiously copy Snapschat’s features…. Oh boy, I was wrong… They’re not only copying Snapchat’s growth strategy, they’re copying everyone’s. Now, it’s Twitter’s turn.
According to TechCrunch, Instagram users will be able to share other people stories, the same way people can re-tweet. It will be set a trial first with only certain users so Instagram can gauge its popularity.
This could be a great way for brands and influencers to share content in a genuine and organic fashion so they can expend their content – the same way Facebook users currently does with the share option.
The question is: when would that social media extension stop?
I bet by the end of the year, we will be able to video call on Instagram while steaming our own story on Netflix…
