This is an update with a lot of possibilities. Google has announced they are rolling out Custom Intent Audiences (previously available on Google Display Network (GDN)) to YouTube.
So what exactly does this mean? Great question.
Essentially, you will now have the ability to target audiences on YouTube based on the intent they have shown through their Google search (not YouTube search).
Say, for example, you had great video content for a holiday home in Fiji. Imagine now being able to show that video as a pre-roll ad to anyone that has just searched for Fiji holiday on Google. Like I said, great possibilities.
To use this new feature you have to be on the new AdWords interface, then, set up a video campaign in AdWords, and add your keywords. Pretty simple.
