If you are a Facebook user (and let’s face it, most of us are), then you should soon be able to find out if you have been hit by the Cambridge Analytica data scandal.
Sometime today, Facebook users will see one of two posts at the top of their feed. Either an informative post about keeping your data secure or, if you have potentially been affected, then you will see a link to check.
The Cambridge Analytica data scandal is estimated to have impacted over 87 million users. Most of those users are in the US (around 70 million), with the rest scattered around the globe.
It is worth noting that Christopher Wylie, the Cambridge Analytica Whistle Blower has estimated that the number of affected users could be a lot higher than the 87 million. Either way, Facebook has lost a lot of trust with users and it will be interesting to see if they recover from this.
